EUBIMTG : the BIM for public market at European level

The European Union took up the subject of BIM with the 2014 directive and then with the creation of the EU BIM Task group in 2016, now under the direction of Jan Saar from Estonia. The purpose of this « political body » is to bring together national efforts into a common and aligned pan-European approach to develop a worldclass digital construction sector. So the EUBIMTG’s mission is to support public clients responsible for the built environment to implement digital transformation in practices, as BIM (building information modelling)

Vision

Europe’s public procurers, policy makers and public estate owners recognize the positive and transformative effect that digitalization brings to both public works and the construction sector.  The Task Group’s vision is to encourage the common use of BIM, as ‘digital construction’, in public works with the common aim of improving value for public money, quality of the public estate and for the sustainable competitiveness of industry.

Productions

The creation of EUBIMTG led to the identification of national BIM deployment policies (Handbook) and the publication of a methodological guide for public contracting authorities to initiate BIM projects (BIM Costs Benefits Analysis).
